Rob STOCKI (Paralegal)

Rob STOCKI Paralegal

Rob STOCKI joined the Ottawa Police in 1997. His career spanned patrol, traffic as a motorcycle officer, neighbourhood officer, police diver, range officer, intoxilyzer technician and detective. For ten years Rob was responsible for updating the police service on changes in Ontario Provincial Statutes and providing officers with the tools necessary for effective traffic enforcement.

As a result of his dedicated involvement with the service and community, he was invited to speak on Parliament Hill in Ottawa to a special Senate committee regarding issues in policing and law.

Rob was promoted to the rank of Sergeant making him one of the youngest Sergeants in the service.

After 13 years of policing, Rob decided to serve the community in another capacity. Today, you can count on him to provide you with fair, frank and effective defence in Provincial Offences court. Since taking over the Ottawa HELP office in January 2009, Rob has effectively assisted hundreds of clients.

Rob is trained in the use of LASER and RADAR speed detection equipment making him an effective ally to have on your side.

David RICHARDS (Paralegal)

David Richards Paralegal

David completed 25 years of service with Police forces in the United Kingdom and in Ontario and worked in all aspects of police work, from accident investigation and traffic enforcement to anti terrorism and bomb disposal.

He resigned from the service in 1986 and set up the Kitchener and Guelph offices of a major traffic ticket defence company. Since then he has served the people of Waterloo Region and Wellington County as an advocate in the Provincial Offences Courts and built his organization until it is the most successful of its kind in the area.

He is a graduate of the British Police Staff College (High Potential development Scheme), and he has a diploma in Mediation from the University of Western Ontario.

David and his team joined H.E.L.P. in February 2007. In 2011, David moved to Ottawa and joined the Ottawa HELP office. David brings a wealth of court experience with him and looks forward to assisting you with your legal needs.

Sean MAY (Lawyer)

Sean MAY

Sean May received his Law Degree from the University of Ottawa in 1987 and was called to the bar in 1989. Since then he has served thousands of clients while exclusively practicing criminal law in the Ottawa area. He is a long established member of the local community having been brought up and educated in Ottawa.

That’s why I insist on dealing directly with all of my clients, to get to know them as individuals, so that I can properly and sincerely represent them in all of their court appearances"

As a professional, Sean belongs to the internationally respected Thomas More Lawyers Guild and is a past Vice President of the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa. In addition Sean has worked as a reviewer analyst with the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP. His approach to his legal and community work have earned him a reputation as a highly effective communicator who is always willing to "go the extra mile". Sean is the senior lawyer of the law office May & Konyer. Over the past few years May & Konyer have added three additional lawyers to the practice, Kate Hilbig, Samir Adam and Carey Allen.
